Die Stadt gab wiederum den Namen ihrem bekanntesten Exportgut weiter, dem Portwein (Vinho do Porto).\u00a0 \u00dcber den Wein entstand eine arbeitsteilige, symbiotische Beziehung zwischen beiden St\u00e4dten Villa Nova da Gaia und Porto.<\/p>\n<p>In der derzeitigen Globalisierungsphase steht der Name Porto f\u00fcr eine Metropolregion, der &#8222;Grande Area Metropolitana do Porto&#8220; (G.A.M.P.), die im Wettstreit der Standorte konkurrenzf\u00e4hig bleiben will. In diesem Sinne betrachten wir das Dourotal mit seinen zwei Ufern als einen Raum, den es zu gestalten gilt.<\/p>\n<p>Das Entwurfsgebiet selbst unterteilen wir in 3 Teilgebiete. Der zentrale Bereich umfasst die touristischen Ziele zwischen Alfandega und der Ponte Dom Luis und beinhaltet den gestalterischen Schwerpunkt des Entwurfes . F\u00fcr die Gebiete Massarelos im Westen und Fontainhas im Osten schlagen wir vor allem Wohnumfeldverbesserungen vor, die direkt den Bewohnern der jeweiligen Quartiere zu Gute kommen.<\/p>\n<p>Die zentrale Zone der neuen Waterfront (frente ribeirinha) in Porto ist haupts\u00e4chlich dem Tourismus gewidmet.<\/p>\n<p>Der Salao, ital. Salone galt schon immer als das Empfangszimmer bzw. als das\u00a0 Gesellschaftszimmer in das ein guter Gastgeber seine G\u00e4ste f\u00fchrt.
