It focusses on newcomers and migrants and their way to find an identity stuck between their origins and the inconceivable urban entity of Beijing. Until now the migrant do not appear in the cityscape. But there are examples of emerging new elements in urban culture. Most of them are hardly detected at first sight and need special attention to be recognised at all. But they have the potential to form surprisingly complex strucutures. Beijing Beginner Box aims to stimulate particular cultural articulation in this hard proces of Starting and Learning.
